[00:00:00] Charity Gates: [00:00:00] Welcome to the Sistahs in Law podcast. My name is Charity Gates, recent law school graduate and host of the podcast.   What started out as a brunch and dinner style networking event will now become a platform for intimate conversations with Black women about their journeys navigating careers in the legal field.

 Each episode, I will sit down with a different Sistah in law–from legal queens in law school, all the way to partners and GCs at major companies or firms. We will get into the nitty gritty of what it's really like to be a sistah in law.   As a sistah in law and myself, I want to showcase the myriad experiences of Black women, attorneys, law, students, and legal professionals.

 I hope that this podcast can serve as a forum and oral archive of stories of trials, [00:01:00] triumphs and tribulations that Black women in law have gone through to get to where they are today.  Through the power of storytelling and sharing individual narratives with others, we foster a sense of community.

 This show is about all things sisterhood and I can't wait to create a community of sisterhood for legal queens. Sometimes it's enough to validate ourselves with the simple, "I hear you sis!"  Join me for new episodes every other Friday for a new conversation with a sistah in law.
